I got all my sisters my brother with me...
Steve came over after work yesterday to run my 11miler with me this week. After the pain of the hills last week I will admit I'd been fearing this run a little all week but I hadn't factored in how much easier a run like that is when you are running with someone. Steve not only kept me going but we sped up to the point where miles 8-11 were run in 8.20, 8.10, 7.52 and 7.20. I loved the run and even felt like I could have done an extra mile or even two at the end which bodes well for two weeks time when I'll have lots of runners with me in Marlow.
One week of school term left and then we embark on our Isle of Wight adventure with 45 Year 8s and 9s, broken up only by my 12 miler on Saturday. I may try and plot a route this afternoon, but due to not being able to lay out drinks, it might need to be 3 laps of 4 miles which can be hard mentally but still, I'm now looking forward to it.
It was also interesting running without my iPod after so much training with it, I was far more aware of my surroundings and actually chatted with Steve quite a bit.
Ok, well I'm off to play golf and buy some new work shoes
