This has been a troublesome week, because I'm concerned that I'm getting old. Here are the signs; 1: I'm learning the piano and I found myself reading a book on musical theory this week, instead of watching TV at 9pm with Mr Logan. When I was at school you'd have been forced to pin me down and place the book unavoidably in front of my eyes and then sellotape my eyes open, to ensure that I read such a book. 2: I really don't care about Ryan Giggs' love life. That's not to say that now that I do know, it hasn't changed my opinion of what I knew of him as a human being, for the worse. But of course it hasn't changed what I think of him as a footballer (he is one of the greatest). However I really don't care, in the same way I really don't care about the DNA results of people I don't know on The Jeremy Kyle Show. If he was my brother, husband or mate I would care, but he's not.

3: I was really cynical watching Britain's Got Talent because not one act, well apart from the cute boy band who came third, made me really proud that this was BGT and not AGT (America's Got Talent) or indeed LGT (Lebanon’s Got Talent). 4: I would like to take a train from Vancouver through The Rockies to Banff. Surely I am thirty years early with this one? Even my Gran hasn't expressed a desire to do this. 5: I love garden furniture shops. I love gardens actually, I used to buy House and Garden to look at bathrooms and now I look at the gardens too.

6: I actually enjoyed it when Lady Gaga did that jazz composition during the Radio 1 Big Weekend. It was a nice break. 7: Newsnight is a must watch in my house. 8: I am worried that the dress I bought for Royal Ascot this year is too short. This from the girl who was awarded the Tyne Tees Tonight Show 'My skirt is a belt" award in 1996 at the office party. 9: I love musicals. 10: If I could, I would have an afternoon nap every day. So there you have it. Next week, signs that I may still be young.....
