Update: (16/05/2009)

Having made a lifestyle choice, at almost 18 stone and being unable to run to the loo(!!), I applied for the FLM 2009. I got in and ran for SPARKS having lost over 4 and a half stone! Was a fantastic day, but my right calf went after 16 miles and I limped and hobbled the last 10 and over the finish line.

So I must carry on running to keep the weight off and better my PB's. Ballot entered for 2010, so fingers crossed. - got place with Children with Leukaemia!!

Still not built for speed, but am improving and keeping going. Many thanks for the support of my wonderful wife Debs, and my two little angels, Derry and Ellie.

PB's

Half Marathon - Bath March 2009 - 2:17:30

I'm in!!!!!!

Fantastic news, I have secured a place for VLM 2010, with CHILDREN WITH LEUKAEMIA. Obviously, I'm very excited and at the same time scared to death.....again!!

Have only been doing run/walks this weeks, as I try to get my head around what I need to do. The fundraising will be startinthis weekend, as I set up a website to collect as well as try and get companies, pubs and any other unsuspecting punters involved. I am confident though that although the motivation for running has been lacking (as well as the motivation to get on here and post/comment accordingly..sorrry) come April I will be ready.

Have a 4.5 mile run tomorrow, then an 8 on Sunday, with a running partner which should help. Alcohol is now off limits, except for special occassions like the door being wooden etc, healthy eating is a priority and £2000 and a sub 5 hour my goal!!!

Will catch up with you all soon.

Gazz

Great news Gazz. Good to see you taking the alcohol ban seriously as well! Knock Knock, on wood that is!

Well done Gazz, no doubt you'll smash both those goals with ease. Look forward to reading about it.

Woo hoo - fantastic news Gazz. That is brilliant.
What would I do without my regular 'piss taker' on here for my posts??!
Jolly glad to have you back again, and hopefully blogging again more regularly now that you have a place.
Forget the alcohol ban. I've just cut down and I'm running faster already :-)
