Hitting the Wall

Hmmm Having a few problems getting the old bag of bones back into the running routine - despite trying to ease back into it very gently, I still managed to pick up a sore arch in my foot a couple of weeks back.  And then some miserable weather saw any motivation go out the window.  Closely followed by a bad cold that wiped me out for all of last weekend.

Gah - another 2 weeks lost from the schedule. And only 11 weeks to the High Legh 10k now, looking decidely dodgy isn't it?!

Anyway, surprisingly I felt in the mood for facing the chilly evening last night, so found myself pulling on the skinny tracksters, and multiple layers of thick top.  Caught myself in the mirror, and immediately thought of Max Wall...

Just another 21 minutes of run/walk, taking it ever so gently.  And paying a bit more attention I think to running gait -  I'm sure this must be partly to blame for some of these niggles I pick up.  Will be interesting to see if they pick up on this at the podiatry assessment on the 16th.

Anyway that's me up to date.  Hope everyone has a good weekend - OH is threatening me with a paint brush and a tin of emulsion!

Happy running everyone

I think everyone thinks of Max Wall when they see themselves in running tights - not the most flattering of clothing!

Hope you are feeling okay after the run.

Enjoy the painting :-)

Hopefully your training will come back together soon, I am sure if you just try and up the walking a little more you will manage the 10k fairly smoothly.

I'm sure you will find the drive to run again if you are given the brush!

I don't know about Max Wall, more Free Willy for me.

Can't possibly be decorating in these poor light conditions Geoff. You haven't trained Mrs Geoff properly if she doesn't realise that.

If you're running in he style of Max Wall no wonder you keep getting injured!! Personally I run like a gazelle running effortlessly across the African savanna! Yeah right!!! More like an hefalump!!
Take care - hope you manage to avoid the paint brush!

You could consider painting as a form of cross training or even working on core muscles with all that bending and stretching...
Hope the niggles fade soon.

Ignore Malcolms. I would rather run a 100 miles than do a little painting. Wait a minute I am. Bugger

Painting is deffo cross training, but it's much nicer if you take your time, stick sommit good on the telly and have a couple of glasses of wine while you decorate.

Works just fine for me, though my edges do look a little skewed ;)
