resting

Oct0220087:57 p.m.

The cold has not quite ground me to a halt but it has put a stop to the running.  I just can't afford to miss any work at the moment.  Right when things were starting to move smoothly, but hopefully once it goes, I can get back into it.  I'm going out for a run/ jog/wog/ walk of some sort on Saturday no matter what.  If it knocks me flat, I'll have a reason to relax on the sofa this weekend. ;-)

I've been reading a few blogs over on the FLM 2009 section that have reports of the dreaded fleece arriving.  I opted for no fleece (money will be given to charity one way or another but my nerves can't take the whole check cashing/debit withdrawing without knowing what it means) but have received no Mag yet.  The money certainly hasn't come out so I'm guessing its another year of rejection.  See what happens when I can't run???  I think....hmmm.

The idea of a tri still appeals to me though...I'm very intimidated by the thought of it but I think 2010 just might be the year to give a "beginner friendly" one a shot...if there is such a thing.

I've (almost) learned my lessson about planning too far ahead though, so first things first...

back to the tissues till the sniffles are gone for good!

  • SuperCaz 'www.fun2tri.co.uk does beginner-friendly tri's. Most have a sprint distance one or a fun distance so you can experience what it is all about without needing to be particularly good at any disapline. The Stratford one is pool based, so you don't need to worry about wet suits and open water swimming so I would particularly recommend that one. So why wait until 2010? I'm sure that you could do one in 2009, and I'll be at the Stratford one if you want someone to help your through the day. Hey, I did Stratford last year with minimal training. As far as I know, only rejections have been sent out so far - I don't know of anyone who has got confirmation that they are in yet. So the fact that you haven't had your money taken yet is probably a good sign.' added 3rd Oct 2008
