Please forgive me!

Nov2820118:21 p.m.

I am still lurking about on here when I can! Traditionally this time of year is quite busy at work for me and by the time I get home I’m usually too boss-eyed to spend a lot of time at the computer!

I’m still trying to run as much as I can – averaging about 25-30 miles a week. Raced yesterday – Cotswold 10K with Mr H in tow (he thought as he was taking me all that way he’d have a go too!) Very windy, very hilly – even ran through a ford (for those of you that know me that was a shock – wet feet at mile 5 and cold wet feet at that! At least it washed the mud off my trainers!) Managed 49:22 – I was glad just to get under 50 mins as it was a bit brutal and the wind seemed to be in our faces most of the way round! And I reckon it was a continuous hill thw whole way! Now, I know you are all thinking how did Mr H do – the little blighter trains one day a week on a Sunday and still manages a 51:17 only 10 places behind me – how does he do it?! Well done Mr H Laughing

It was funny how most races you have to take care with the traffic and this one was no different except the traffic was horses rather than cars – I have never seen so many horses in one area (without a horse show!) Even the local pub had people sitting out on the wall with a bridle in one hand and a pint in the other!

So that’s it for me at the mo – this year I’ve managed an 8 mile race, London Marathon and 3 sub 50 10 k’s. There won’t be any more races for me this side of Christmas but I have a local 10k in February (called the home run – its where I grew up so I’m looking forward to that!) And of course next October time I will be having a go at Cardiff Half again – for you know who.

I will still be out and about running and will check in when I can and try to keep with all of you. Happy Running Laughing

  • Johnf 'Well done, to both of you, on your 10km. The worst thing about going through fords or even big puddles is that horrible squelching noise for the next couple of miles till your socks have been pressed dry! ' added 29th Nov 2011

  • runnerbarbie01 'Well done Helen! Excellent running and it sounds a rather rustic and eventful 10K too - well done to Mr H too - he sounds like one of those pesky runners like my boyfriend! Enjoy the running and hope work isn't too busy xx' added 30th Nov 2011
