I did it!!
Apr2820097:47 p.m.
Well I did it, but it definately did not go as planned.
It started well, my hip was fine (I've been having treatment for it since January) and it was nice and warm. Unfortuantly at mile 2 my knee went so I had to slow my running down. At mile 8 I overtook Jordan (Katie Price) but was overtaken again a few minutes later as I could no longer run. At this point I had 2 choices, give up or start speed walking. I chose the latter. I speed walked until mile 15 where the pain was too much to handle so I hobbled to mile 21. My hip was beginning to ache at this point also. I was very much ready to give up at this point. At mile 21 I met my family and they gave me to support I needed to continue. At about mile 23 I overtook Jordan and I went on to complete the marathon in just over 6 and a half hours. This was the most emotional thing I have ever done and was in tears from about mile 8 to 21.Even up to 2 hours ago I have being saying that I will wait 3/4 years before applying again, but about an hour ago I entered the ballot. Mad I know! At the moment I have such big blisters on my feet that I can't walk properly, but the sense of achievement I now how is undescribable.I am now off to have a nice warm bath and another early night - maybe if I'm lucky they be better tomorrow!
