Half Marathon: Check. US the day after: Check

So its been a while since I wrote anything.
Have been in the US from 12th October so no chance to blog (or run for that matter!).
Royal Parks Half was a run of 2 halves as it turned out! First 6-7 miles was fab. Interesting course, lots of switch-backs so you could see and cheer on your mates and managed a 10K PB so at 7 miles everything was looking rosy.
Then the knee went - and the second 6 miles were a bit of a nightmare. Although the knee pain came and went it wasn't really right and at times the only way to keep going was to keep my knee straight - difficult to run in such circumstances! Either way at the end of the day I had achieved 1/2 marathon PB (1:48:06), 2 of the biggest blisters since man thought "there's 13 miles, I quite fancy running that!" and a knee that won't bend. THe best bit waa the following day spent on a plane to Washington followed by a plane to Cinti.
Net - I have not run since and now have a slightly suspicious cough that is threatening to develop into a cold. Love the winter and the fetid, germ breeding grounds that are aeroplanes!
So with that happy thought I shall leave this post for today and come back when I have something more inspiring to write
