Two weeks and no running!
Sep03200712:21 p.m.
Got back from Corfu last monday. Did NOTHING whilst away - had one feeble attempt and way too hot so decided to have a rest instead. Did some water ski ing - why doesn't it ever get any easier and why is it so tiring when all you have to do is hold on?
So 2 weeks and no running - what was the damage? Couple of little runs in the week - one successfully, one hopelessly (ended in tears and anouncement that hated running). But some nice heavy weights on friday sorted me out and did a lovely big 8 mile run on sunday.
After the hopeless attempt at a run in the week was not expecting much on sunday but was very pleased that manged the 8 miles without stopping in an ok (not wonderful) time of 1:20:53. I have never run that far before and actually feel ok today. No blisters. No sore knees. Ache a bit but hey wouldn't be any fun if no aches at all.
This weekend- Sutton 7 and next one a 10 mile attempt.
This week should be following my GNR training plan I suppose but never been any good at doing what I am told. May do a 10K mid week and maybe some hills but feel that as long as I mainatin current fitness I'll be alright on the night. I hope.

Geoff_rb 'Hi, thanks for your comments - and well done yourself, 8 miles non-stop! 1 hour 20 sounds like a good time to me, and great to hear you had no knee or blister problems too! The riverside route sounds good - I'm including the Millenium Bridge/Rowntree Park section in my run home tonight, as it happens. Good luck with the 7 and 10 miler. I still haven't faced the question of running some hills, I'm afraid - have a friend at Fridaythorpe who loves running up there, but they are SERIOUS ups & downs!!' added 3rd Sep 2007
