Am I out of shape?

Apr0620098:31 p.m.

Kudos to me, I got my run done yesterday despite the funky weather. Well to be honest I am not sure If I did the exact "19" or not.  I just went out for 3 hrs and hoped I was somewhat close.  My pace wasn't what I hoped though.  Although I give myself credit it started out cold and windy and luckily the sun came out and it warmed up to perfect running weather.  I even had to stop and take a couple layers off.  I started out outside my apartments; about 4x around is a mile.  I figured I would do at least 30 mins to an 1 hr then head somewhere else for a change of pace...but I just was worried I would lose the motivation so I did the whole 3 hr run doing circles around my apartments! Yeah I think my neighbors think I'm crazy.  If you get grossed out easily stop reading now.  But I had some diarrhea prior to heading out (which is typical for me, maybe from anxiety aka my new best friend) Sooo I knew I needed a bathroom close by so It was nice lapping around my apartment.  I did have to stop a few times to use the facililties.  I tried something new this time and I downloaded an audio book off itunes (I highly recommend it) I got the new book by Chelsea Handler; who is a super funny comedy for those that don't know her.  It was soo fun and it totally kept my mind off what I was doing.  I even laughed out loud quite a few times and was smiling for most of the run because of it.  I think  I ran slower than if I was listening to pop music but thats OK, the long run isn't about speed anyway, Right?

Originally my plan was to go a bit longer than 3 hrs, but let me tell you when I hit the 3 hrs my knees were achy and so was my left quadricept.  Maybe from running pavement for 3 full hours which I am not used to? Or maybe I am not in as good of shape as I once was.  I feel like I keep missing little runs throughout the week thinking "it's no big deal", but maybe it's catching up with me. Who do I think I am skipping runs and thinking I can get a PB in less than 2 months? Maybe I shouldn't be running this marathon at all.  Not to be negative but I am pretty sure I will likely run this marathon slower than my previous times.  I am trying to come to terms with that now so that race day I don't get discouraged and just quit.  I even told my hubby to not say a damm word if I cross the finish line at 5 hrs instead of 4 like I previously wanted to do.  Anyway, I'll keep plugging along.

Went to the gym for crosstraining tonight.  Did Turbo kick for the first time in over a month. Boy was I feeling it, I have lost some of my aerobic capacity for sure.  I'm a hot mess.  I did it anyways and I made it through an hour of Body Cuts as well.  Also been slacking on the strength training so it felt good to get my muscles a little shaky.

Lazy tonight so it's garlic pizza for dinner. Hopefully I can stay consistent this week and improve my overall mind, body, and spirit.
