I love rainy Bank Holidays
but only if I'm going running :o). Didn't manage the gym for a weights work out so headed out for a run. Like other bloggers this weekend, everything just felt right and managed a steady run over 7.06 miles in 1:26:46. This was my second ever 7 miler (the previous one being 2 months ago which was a couple of weeks after I started seriously training for the GSR) and managed to beat my time by 8 minutes. I must really have been rubbish when i started!!
Wasn't expecting to run that far, but at the point in my circuit of either turning right to do 5 miles or go straight on to do my 6 miles I decided to do the latter. Then when I got home decided to run past my "finishing line" and ran the rest to make up my 7 miler route.
The wind was very strong most of the way round (why doesn't it ever blow behind you), but hey it's all good practice for October and the temperature was cool. Was overtaken a couple of times by other runners, but just ran in my own zone and shouted my usual encourgement aloud when I felt my legs going a bit wobbly!
My Personal Trainer has said that I may not be the fastest runner in the world but my mental willpower will get me through.
Well done to everyone who ran "up north" today, you inspired me!
