Marathon of Marathons
Oct2520118:43 p.m.
Well this Sunday the next stage of the running challenge kicks off and probably the maddest of the lot. (Small print - Don't try this at home its totally silly, not big and definitely not clever)
Sunday is the Brentwood Marathon - a "fun" jaunt around a hilly field/wood in Brentwood - something like 12 times round and each time you get a hair band to count the laps. Sean (the Marathon man) is also running it so will be good to catch up - we ran it last year but he left me for dead at the end with his strength.
But the real point is that Sunday marks the start of my Marathon of Marathons. Between now and the end of may I am planning to run 26 marathons - some big ones, some small but all 26.2 miles of fun! Real reason as many of you know is that the last ten of these will be the Brathay 10 in 10 - ten marathons in 10 days and I need a fair amount of training so rather than doing lots of long slow runs on my own I thought I would sign up for a few races and I got a bit carried away.
Most will be done at a very steady/gentle pace and if I stay fit the plan looks like this:
30/Oct Brentwood
13/Nov Maidstone
20/Nov Luton
10/Dec Saxon Shore Day 1
11/Dec Saxon Shore Day 2
18/Dec Portsmouth
2/Jan Enigma Winter
9/Feb Quadzilla Day 1
10/Feb Quadzilla Day 2
11/Feb Quadzilla Day 3
12/Feb Quadzilla Day 4
18/Mar ROME
1/Apr Sussex
15/Apr Brighton
22/Apr London
29/Apr Milton Keynes
11/May - 20/May BrathayWindermere 10 in 10
Still plenty of time in March but so few marathons!
Anyone doing any of these ?20th May is the full open o public Windermere Marathon - places available!
Hope all is well and relatively sane in your worlds

Johnf 'Rome sounds nice, to be honest Keith some of the others sound crazy, Quadzilla! Whar sort of name is that for a race? If aptly named I dread to think what your quads are like at the end of the 4 days. I can remember when you first started on this site but can't remember any early symptoms then!..' added 26th Oct 2011
