What happens away ..... stays away

Well safely back from the stag weekend in Valencia – and safe to say the stag had a great time (from what he can remember). If you haven’t been to Valencia I would highly recommend it – it’s a great City and a great mix of big city (apparently according to the in flight magazine the 15th largest in Europe) but small enough and cozy and felt so safe even at 3 in the morning. Even a decent football team – watched Valencia V Atletico Madrid which kicked off at 10pm!
Not so much history to see (or if there was we missed it) but lots of people watching and a great beach as well – about 150 metres wide and maybe 4-5 miles long. And with temperatures at 32 degrees + a grea place to sit in a bar and cool down. Talking of bars the weekend was very cosmopolitan – Irish bar at 10 am each morning to watch the Rugby and the surreal experience of a Bravarian Beer festival in the Spanish Bull Ring to the strains of awful Euro Pop late into the evening.
Also a good place to run – relatively flat but lots of green space not least an old river bed that flowed through the centre of Valencia which has now been turned into parks, cycle tracks, running lanes etc. (imagine the Thames turned into parks) Managed to get out twice each time doing about 8 miles injust less than an hour and back before anyone else was up so didn’t miss out on any beer. Great hang over cure to be honest even if the lads thought I was mad.
So beer, rugby, football and running in the sun – what more could you want!
