As sick as a dog!

no, not me, but Eric last night. the plan was 3 hilly miles but when i got home and fed eric he decided to vomit all over the patio. cue lots of running around trying to get the sick each time before he ate it again - dogs are such disgusting creature. 5 vomit runs in total - dont think they count towards the marathon!

But with alex being out i couldnt leave him on his own so the run got cancelled for the nigt - doh!! he's fine now and running around like is usual wappy self.

so not much got done yesterday, hey ho nevermind. these dogs take over your life. its like having a child just before you run the marathon - you just wouldnt!! :D

so onto today and after a bit of a long lie in and nearly being late for work, i managed to get out for my run tonight after spending some time training eric.

he has now learnt lie down and is currently in the process of learning stay. he's sooo cleaver :D

so anyways running - thats what im supposed to be talking about. yes i did my 4 mile route down to my friends at the riva pub in matlock bath and decided it was to be an interval training session - definatly felt like i was working a lot harder and really enjoyed it.

managed to knock 1 min and 10 seconds off my previous best for it. got it down to 37.20 now :D am well chuffed wit this and felt like i could burst with pride when a man in te pub told me how he thought cancer research was such a good cause.

walking around in my cancer research vest is obviously a good idea :D

the newspaper article has gone down well and everyone has sent me messages saying sponsorship is on te way and that the article is really good - even the trout-a-like picture. and simone, did i really seem that mysterious???

Lots more crying due to people telling me that they are proud of me :) but it's all good, i really feel like im doing some good by raising this money and helping cancer research. it s a charity tat means so much to me and i want to do them proud :D

lsr planned for tomorrow morning. will report back tomorrow - got a few different ideas bubblin away in my little head and might try them out tomrorow - but until then its hush hush!

oh and bicyclerepairman, thanks for your dog training advice, i have read about the possibility of causing damage to your dog by doing too much exercise with them too early and have researched this. Eris is going to be on a relaxed regime until at least 6 months, i just feel al bit bad keeping him cooped up when he's sooooo energetic. we're going to build him up slowly to longer distances and i'm going to have a word with the vet to confirm our plans too.

happy running people

k xx

  • Firefly123 'I'm glad Eric is now better. 37:20 for 4 miles is better than I could manage - you'll be home having a cup of tea before I finish the marathon! I hope the lsr goes well tomorrow x' added 12th Mar 2010

  • simonedumergue 'LOL - sounds like having a new puppy is giving you a taste of kids if you ever go down that route :-) Great running and shaving that much off your time. Good feeling isn't it! Well, maybe 'mysterious' isn't the right word but when people post without a profile pic I always have an image in my head of what they look like - so it was nice to see Kendle in the flesh. And for goodness sake woman - not a trout or other river fish in sight :-) Hope the LSR goes well today!' added 13th Mar 2010

  • glen_b 'Having had new dogs (although not recently - we don't spend enough time in the house for it be fair on a dog) and also having 2 young children, trust me, it is easier to train a dog. Good luck with the LSR if it isn't completed yet.' added 13th Mar 2010
