Human bed warmers

Okay, I'm back after a week of ploughing the Austrian slopes and thankfully these was no repeat of the previous year's incident...landing in a German's lap after totally underestimating my stopping distance. Anywho, so to today's post, I thought over the past few months I have neglected the travel side, and as I am fresh back from a break away a little post on the jolly hollies might be a nice perk, especially as this time of year, well, yesterday in particular as it was deemed to be the most depressing day of the year.
So, on the back of Holiday Inn now providing human bed warmers, yup, you read that right, two lovely snugly peeps to jump under your covers before you retire just to ensure your sheets are warm and cosy, I got to thinking about random room facilities and then did a little snooping.

Now instead of focusing on facilities provided (as, let's face, it human bed warmers are going to take some beating) after a bit of trawling I stumbled across a slightly different subject, weird things found in hotel rooms.
So what are we talking about? Suspect hair on the sheets, scorpion in the hand basin or false leg under the bed? Okay the last one is pretty random - or it is?
I discovered that many a weird and wonderful thing can be found in hotels the world over, but it looks like the US peeps are out doing us UK lot.
Yup , I'll leave you with the following reported findings. In the US were tarantulas, raccoons, guns, a bath tub of beer and a dead body (under the bed no less). But all the Brits managed to muster was a toy plastic cow, a carrot wrapped in cling film and some Hall and Oates cassettes.
So, what's the strangest thing you have found in your hotel room on your travels? But more importantly I would welcome comments from anyone that knows exactly who (or maybe what) are Hall and Oats?
But I will leave you with a final note to self and others, check central heating prior to going on holiday, I returned home on Saturday to a Baltic house after forgetting to set the timer. Could have really done with a couple of bed warmers that night, I had to settle for a hairdryer job to take the chill off.

Johnf 'Kirstie, naughty, I'm sure you'd get many volunteers to warm your bed! I have to admit to having never found anything interesting in a hotel room, though the bed warmers option is quite appealing, as is the bath full of beer!' added 19th Jan 2010
