All set...

Feb1720109 p.m.

Here we are only days away from the No1 HIGH LEGH 10K and the excitement is building.....

Jamie sent me a lovely message earlier this week with a lovely idea.

"I was thinking about your friend Caroline (ecsue me if I've mixed up names - I'm rubbish) today and I know it's going to be tough for you. I think you said her sister is running and I thought it would be nice to maybe pay tribute to Caroline, her sister, family and friends by maybe getting your mates to wear a ribbon. Just something simple - Caroline's favourite colour. Let me know if you want to do it"

I was really touched by this and when I mentioned it to Lynsey (Caroline's Sister) she was moved to tears. What do you all think?

It's a little late in the day to have anything fancy made up, but after mentioning this to my friend and neighbour Jo, she hot-footed off out and came back with a length of red ribbon and some pins, and wouldn't take any money, she said it was her contribution and for a lovely girl :)

So I'm going to have a few memorial ribbons on the day for anyone who may like to wear one as a tribute to Caroline, her family and friends...

On Saturday I hope to make it round to the Kilton to meet Kim, Supe running mummy, Tina and maybe a surprise guest. Hoping to get an idea of a time as soon as and Nick may be able to pop round and join us for a coffee too :). If it's early enough we may be able to drive the course if you want to?

On the day I'll be heading for the garden centre coffee shop around 9:45 I hope...

  • kizzi10000 'LOVE the idea of the ribbon, I would be honoured to wear one for Caroline. Can't wait to meet you too, and everyone else, surprise guest included ;0). Will text you when I'm leaving Southampton, should take around 3 hours. Can't check into the hotel until 2, so may end up having to hang around somewhere depending on what time I get dropped off at the car hire place. Told everyone at fat club last night I was going to Manchester for a curry lol, but had to run a 10k first. 2 more sleeps :D' added 18th Feb 2010

  • Kitten 'Thank you all - I'm so touched, as is Lynsey which you'll no doubt witness. Lynsey will be wearing a memorial t shirt and all I have to say is she is blonde, tall and extremely naturally skinny so you'll know her straight away. Such a fab idea by Jamie B, Caroline would be blown away totally - thank you so much xx Sounds a little extreme Kim haha, well done with the weight loss, running 10K then eating curry is the perfect weight maintenance plan :). Don't be stuck if you arrive early you can come to mine no worries - drive safely all xx' added 18th Feb 2010
