Say hello then wave goodbye.....

Apr2320105:57 p.m.

Strange old week. In fact it's been a weird one really. After much speculation, my partner on MOTD2 has left me! Adrian Chiles has decided after months of deliberation that his future lies elsewhere. The covered orange sofas of the MOTD studio are not for him. I say orange, they are grey now. But they used to be orange and that sounded more descriptive even if not completely accurate. Well anyway, I'm quite sad. I loved working with Aid and I thought we had a great chemistry together.

We will miss him on the show and his unique presenting style. But this is showbiz and the show must go on! Colin Murray is now booked in to do the World Cup highlights with me and also be the new funny guy on MOTD2. I know, you think I'm the funny one, but I'm not supposed to be! I went on a lovely ride on Sunday. 80 kilometres of Surrey countryside in the sun! Box Hill was defeated although it did put up a fight.

We had the BBC press launch for the World Cup on Thursday. That all went well. I challenged the journalists to come up with an original question, which is not that easy year in year out. Everyone wants to know who is going to win it and what Capello's squad will be. All basic stuff but not that interesting. There was one decent question though, which was, would Alan Shearer enjoy playing against England's current back four? He said that looking at the back four as it is now, then yes he would! They're all either injured or out of form. Still two months to go. Come on England! Have a great week.
