The special one.....

Barca? Rubbish! So they are not that good then! Jose soon sorted that lot out. Outscored the Catalans and outdefended them too. Shock! The Special One masterminded the tactics that would nullify the brilliant flowing football of Barca and although stifling at times, it was genius. The purists have been moaning about Mourinho's methods but hey, the job is to put the ball in one end and keep it out of the other. His team did that 3 to 2. End of story.

Riding the bike has been good this week. Weather is perfect for cycling. Having said that, Sunday was wet. But 7 of us still ventured out for a 90 km ride. Several decent gills around Surrey and then back home for a quick bite before a short trip to the BBC for four games of soccer. It was the first show without Adrian. All a bit strange. Jake Humphrey fresh from Formula 1 was a stand-in. Mr Lineker will end the MOTD2 season this weekend. Then Colin Murray will be in the chair for next season.

I sent Adrian a picture of the empty sofa he normally watches the games from in the production room. I added the quote, "where are you?" He responded by sending a picture of his pint of lager half drunk, adding he wasn't missing me. Charming! I always liked Christine Bleakley better than him (joke!) Football Focus is on site this weekend from Bradford City. It's 25 years since the fire at the old stadium, where so many fans lost their lives. We are doing a tribute show from the city, which I'm sure will be very moving. Anyway off to bed now, as I am riding again tomorrow. And I have this week's Cycling Weekly to catch up on. See ya
