Vital stats!

The stats from Stage 1 are in!
My one and only action shot:
The distance (according to my Garmin at least!) was 13.6 miles. I completed this in 3:09:32. I feel compelled to add here that I can actually run a normal half marathon in around 1:55 - that gives an indication of how rugged the course was! (although I'm not as fit at the moment as I would like to be).
Out of 271 competitors I was 233rd - I was actually surprised at this as I thought I'd finished pretty close to last! Of 85 women I was 64th (which puts me about 3/4 of the way down the field). I'm keeping track of these bits and pieces of info as I'd like to see how I (hopefully) improve over the course of the series.
I had a really easy week last week to recover, but this week is another heavy one. As theres only around 4 weeks between each race (apart from a longer gap between the Dec-Jan ones) I'll be following each race with an easy week, then a long week, then a medium week, then an easy week leading up to race day. I'm hoping this program will allow me to continue getting fitter, but avoid injury at the same time. It's a tricky balance!
Off to bed now, my doona and book are calling me
