A Week gone by......

Where the heck are these weeks going?
Its been a week since my last blog father..........
Last weekend (Great Eastern Run) was fantastic. It was my 5th half marathon and most certainly the best. In the past I have used the water and drink stations to speed walk for a couple of minutes and stretch my legs. I felt so good on sunday my sister and I even jogged through water stations and managed to speed up the last ½ mile. Whatever routine I did last sunday morning certainly worked. lets remember......bacon and cheese bagel, maltloaf and energy bar just before the start. That has to be it from now on. The final time was 2:03:33 whoopee! and ran the whole way for the first time. Now you would have thought that feeling would push me on to greater things....ummmm. I rested for a couple of days cause my legs really did kill on monday. Thursday evening thought I would manage 6 miles but whilst out decided to change it to 8 miles and practically crawled the last mile home! I hate these body & mind tricks. Now I feel totally out of my depth with the prospect of a marathon ahead. argghh!
Now that I have calmed down and had time to reflect. I am blaming it on heavy tired legs and treating Thursday run as a after race run. ha!
Keep going guys I love reading the blogs. Although lately my 'quick 10 minutes' reading them quickly turns into an hour.
plans for next week....well its flippin half term which damages my schedule somewhat as i have to run in the mornings and hate it. but keep on we must!
