Its been a slow couple of weeks getting back into training 5 days a week but gradually I am getting there.

Just been reading through some blogs and recognising a few names (Mike Thompson, Martin Witty and Sandy to name a few) which over a cup of tea, and another, and another is great catching up and glad to see you are all out there running.

I sorted out a training schedule for marathon training which commences next week.  Have been running 5-6 miles during the week with cross training and had 2 long runs of 8.5 miles so far.  this afternoon was a very cold one, out came the running tights and familiar Helly Hanson top of last winter, which felt pretty uncomfortable after running the past 7 months or so in shorts and vest tops.

There is a problem in that my husband is working away on long term secondment and trying to get the long run at the weekends is going to be difficult especially when they get up to 14 miles +.  I Was thinking about running in the morning on the treadmill and then completing the mileage in the afternoons when I can get out for 1½hrs or so.  Does anyone have any suggestions on this.  Is it a good idea to split the training into two sessions.

Anyone else out there that took up the challenge for the Edinburgh Marathon?   Nivana europe are not taking bookings yet as they are not sure it will go ahead.  Have you heard anything?

oh well looking forward to a rest day tomorrow. ahhhhhhh

    • Giddyup 'Hi lesley. Yeah, there's an absolute ton of post-GNR runners in this blog. It's kind of funny to relocate and see so many familiar names. Good luck with the training. It sounds like you're well on track to begin the marathon schedule. ' added 28th Oct 2006

    • aphid 'Good luck with the training - 5 times a week sounds pretty impressive. i was thinking of entering Edinburgh as a relay team but has to be allied to a charity and think I will have used up all my sponsorship possibilities with the FLM. Heard its a great run tho ' added 29th Oct 2006
