Modern Art, Old Classics, And Something Unrepeatable
Apr13200912:42 a.m.
Today’s pattern pretty much followed the pattern of the past two days, except today I did art galleries rather than shops.
Again I had a champagne breakfast on the balcony, followed by me eating too much at my full English hotel breakfast, followed by not making it out for a run or into the gym.
My trousers have actually started to feel a bit tight!
The Tate Modern was great, although my wife hated it, and I think some of the artists need to be committed! The National Gallery was surprisingly great too – I thought all the old classics would bore me, but quite the opposite. I loved turning a corner to be faced with a painting or an artist that I remembered from my art loving teenage years. Such a thrill. My wife declared that this was a “proper gallery” and then said something about modern art I won’t repeat. I guess she really doesn’t like modern art!
I was spell bound by the fact that I was looking at paintings that were up to 400 years old in some cases. I wonder whether people went running 400 years ago?
I’ve been having a think and have decided that this coming week I’ll try training in what I call my gym trainers. They are proper running trainers (Nike Max Air) but I’ve always just used them in the gym. I think it’s time to “retire” my running pair (Nike Brooks R6) as I’ve suffered two foot problems in the last two weeks. Maybe my Nike Brooks have just done too many miles. I’ll let you know how I get on.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT TIP OF THE DAY:
Remember that a good definition of fear is Fantasised Events Appearing Real.
