Spinning, running and cycling way to Lands End

Feb07201210:12 p.m.

It's been a while since my last post but training is going well. Signed up for the half marathon at Silverstone next month. Did it in 1.57 in 2007 so looking to better that. Don't feel as injured as back then so should be interesting. Need to fit in 10 days tapering at least.  Signed up to a 3 hour spin session on Monday at the gym. Charity event of course. Surfing the web for bike rides on a Saturday and Sunday to prepare for the daily mileage of LEJOG. There is something in may on the peaks , 100 miles on a Sunday. Just need a Saturday event and will be sorted.   LEJOG info day had me very excited. Great presentation by charity highlighted work they do before showing us the profile of the route - including a 2000 metre climb in Dartmoor. Fun! Looking forward to it. Was great to meet people on the trip. My calves remain tender after long runs. Any advice welcome. Bought new headphones for my iPod so can really ramp up the tunes when doing those hills! Bring on Lands End!

  • MarathonMan1983 'Thanks moose10 - seems to be a perennial debate about which is harder out of JOGLE and LEJOG. Only one thing certain - they are both hard!' added 8th Feb 2012
