Blowing Away Some Cobwebs

Feb2220108:34 p.m.

I have to say, I had no intention of running today.  Missed baby swimming this morning because was busy gritting the road outside the house, baby wouldn't go down for her nap so had about 10 minutes to myself all day, feeling very tired because I couldn't sleep when I went to bed last night (probably the chocolate biscuit I was eating on the way up the stairs - my eating habits are atrocious) and was cross because baby has started spitting her juice/milk everywhere and it is getting very tedious.  This follows a weekend where I got a parking ticket and lost my purse (with parking ticket in it) and had to spend Saturday afternoon cancelling my cards then we got snowed in yesterday.

However, when I mentioned doing it Husband To Be offered to make the tea so I could do it so I didn't really have an excuse not to.  The road is unlit and still icy so chose the treadmill in the basement.  It was literally covered in cobwebs and had at least three spiders on it (one of them was 3 inches across!!!), I had to laugh at that.

I did 20 mins in 2 mins walking/2 mins running.  I walked at 6km/hour and ran at 8 km/hour until the last one when I ran at 9km/hour.  These numbers don't mean a lot to me but I know it wasn't very fast.

Am really really pleased I did it, even though it was down to HTB and not me.  I enjoyed it, I didn't exactly push it but there's time for that yet and I know how bad I would have felt if I hadn't have done it.  Instead I'm a bit pink and glowy.

So, any ideas for my ipod running playlist???  I used to like The Clash, The Jam, Kaiser Chiefs when I ran before and my personal favourite, programmed for the end of a race to signal when I needed to boot it.....Bat Out Of Hell!!!

  • Muffs 'I'm having the same problem with the food at the moment. I really need to sort it out but I don't think the weather helps. It's all to easy to confort eat. Too many songs to offer for the ipod. But in times of struggle "The impossible Dream- Andy Williams" When you need to boot it " Sunburst-Eyeball"' added 24th Feb 2010
