Hello Strangers

Feb1920088:57 a.m.

It's been a while since my last post and have been rubbish at keeping up with everyone else's blogs so very sorry about that.  Hope you're all ok and your running is going well.

I've now got 2 months to go until D-day (a different D-day to some of you partaking in the FLM!) and am getting bigger by the day.  Is quite scary really how fast it will go, its only 2 pay days away!!

I'm working part time this week and next then from beg of March I begin maternity leave and I'm free!!  Has been a stressful couple of months at work with sorting out what I need to finish off, doing it, recruiting my replacement, working out a training programme then working one on one with them for 5 weeks solid to cover everything.  Now that's more or less finished I'm working on a lap top at the meeting room table because replacement lady has my desk so I'm without desk, phone or even a proper chair and feeling a bit sorry for myself really.  Hey ho, its only for a few more working days.

Can't wait to finish, I will miss it, I've been there since we opened the business 4 years ago and I set everything up but working full time plus an hour's drive each way has been tiring and has been getting me down for the past few weeks so will be a relief.

Otherwise, have been in good health.  No poorliness or sickness, just the usual heartburn, feeling uncomfortable and lumbering around.  Have been having a few muscle pains under my bump, especially if I'm walking fast but that's apparently normal.  Blinking painful though.

So obviously I haven't been running but when I finish work I'm going to go swimming regularly and I've got the Davina pre natal workout dvd that I'm going to have a go at.  Thought I'd make myself go for a walk every day too but depends on the muscle thing.  Am going to take it easy but so far I've only put a stone on and my bump is all in front.  In fact, from the back you can't tell I'm pregnant ("cow" i hear all you ladies saying!!) but if I sit on my bum all day until the baby comes that won't last much longer!  We've finally had the cross trainer delivered but I don't think I'll be going on that, my other half has done but it looks a bit too much of an effort for me at the moment.  Still, it will come in useful afterwards and baby can watch mummy sweating away.

Oh my god, i can't believe the 'mummy' in that last sentence refers to me.  eek!!

  • kernowgirl 'Hi, it is great to hear from you and that you are in fine health. You are very lucky with the weight, I put on 3 stone with all three of my children, just looked like a beached whale most of the time...How exciting though, I bet you cant wait. It is the most marvellous and amazing thing and I am always very emotional when I see pregnant women and think how that tiny baby is developing. Enjoy the maternity leave and make sure you put your feet up and look after yourself. It must feel strange handing over to other people and suddenly finding you cut adrift....Its lovely to hear about how you are doing, good luck with it all and keep in touch...
