Dealing with the hernia...over and out
May04200711:24 a.m.
On Monday Chris and I went out for our first run since the Marathon - running the same 4 miler that I did on the day we found out we had got in. It was a beautiful day, and apart from the several cars we had to stop for, we had a wonderful run. Legs felt great and it was lovely to be back out again.
Unfortunately the following day I came back down to earth with a very big bump when I went into hospital to have my hernia dealt with again. It's not nearly as painful as last time but I am still struggling with it. It is such a comedown from being a superfit marathon runner to being someone who struggles to walk upstairs and has to spend most of their day sitting down gingerly. I hate feeling like this and can't wait to be back to my old self again.
Now that the marathon is well and truly over I am making this my last post - it will be wonderful having such a good record of the whole event and I have enjoyed reading other people's entries too. What an amazing experience. Thank you FLM.
