Wow!

Apr22200710:07 p.m.

What a totally awesome, inspiring, incredible, amazing day.  It ranks up there immediately behind getting married and having my four kids.

Having woken up at 4.30am and not had a huge amount of sleep before hand the day has been a very long one, but worth every ounce of energy we have put into it.

We completed the race in 4 hours and 30 minutes - and are absolutely thrilled with our time considering the heat and the fact that we were constantly weaving in and out of people who had obviously either started way ahead of us or started in a pen that was too fast for them.  We were still weaving when we hit the last 200m.

The crowds were nothing short of awesome and there were so many moments when I was moved to tears.  Because we had our names put on our shirts we had people shouting out to us specifically and we saw our family at 12 and 22 miles which was a huge inducement to keep going.  To be honest there was never a time when we thought we wouldn't make it.

Afterwards we went for a massage at the MNDA reception and then on to the pub for some champagne, followed by more wine on the coach.  We're now having a quick bowl of pasta and going to bed.  No doubt we'll have more to write tomorrow but in the meantime we have smiles running from ear to ear.....
