Bentley not Great but good enough ps how do u cure a defective insole?

A head cold meant I was off work from Wednesday and so I was very apprehensive for todays half marathon at Great Bentley.
I could have done without the gale force conditions but all said and done the 3 days in bed didn't knock me back as far as I expected and so although I was truly cautious for the first half it was a real relief at 11 miles to be able to kick on and see if I had a couple of decent miles still in my legs at the end.
The time was a couple of minutes slower than 2 years ago but that was in perfect conditions so I'm happy enough with my run.
I'm certainly though not happy with my shoes which are continuing to blister my instep due to an insole which is razor sharp and shows no sign of wearing away.
It's now got to the stage where deep into training I'm worried I'm going to have to change shoes, I don't want to but with the race less than 2 months away I have to make a decision to either go with these and the pain or swap and hope I can break a new pair in, whilst running big sunday mileage, less than ideal.
