Running through porridge

Jan1620119:35 p.m.

This morning's run was hard hard work.  Just a day to grind and grind to get to the end of each road and then focus on the next road.

In the early hours of Saturday morning I just knew that the hard yards couldn't be put off any longer.  It's the point where revision for an exam is either inevitable or you give up and that is always a scary moment.

Next week is the Fred Hughes 10 which will give me a guide as to how much the pre christmas training is still in my legs but I am not expecting to beat my time from 2 years ago.

Thankfully I chose that rather than the Dartford race which I hear has been cancelled due to roadworks and avoided the Benfleet 15 which would probably kill me at this point.

However at least with the Benfleet race if I did keel over they could just pile the mud over my body and leave me in situ, not so much a viking funeral more a health spa mud pack send off.

I'll be in a better frame of mind next week or at least I hope so.
