It's been a while since I last blogged and it's not because I haven't tried. For some reason I haven't been able to add a post for ages. Every time I tried my computer went a bit dodgy. I couldn'y work it out but since the changes to Realbuzz i'm now back on.

It's been over a month since I last posted so quite a bit has happened. Training has generally gone well. I've been doing hill training at least three times a week but I do seriously need to start increasing the distances in order to prepare for the first of the ultra's which is getting ever closer.

I did have one week in the last month which was a bit of a shocker because I fell down the stairs and put my foot through a vase. This left a nasty gash and some heavy bruising on the bottom of my foot.

It healed pretty quickly but the only running I did that week was light running with clients. Fortunately they were slow clients so I was able to amble along.

This morning my intention was to do a 2 hour run at Bradgate Park incorporating some of the tough hills there but that didn'y go to plan. I went with a mate (also a pt) who had 10 of his clients running to. I was really looking forward to it but it didn't quite go to plan. Only two people turned up one was about the same pace as me the other struggled to say the least so we all had to stick together really. The only good bit of training I had was every time we got to a hill a would sprint up it and then wait at the top.

But we did two hours which is time on my feet at least but sadly only covered a frustrating 10 miles. So tomorrow i'm goingto make up for it and get a descent run.

I do have a race next month to do. The shortest race i've done to date. Beacon Hill 5. A hilly 5 miler. I have a load of clients doing it with me so should be good fun.

Just a short post tonight, but i'll get back on the ball now with blogging and keep the posts up to do. Loads to talk about but i'll save the waffle for the next post

  • Jenny1961 'I've caught up with your blogs Matt and am in awe at your planned Leicester to London venture for next year- as well as Caesar's camp this year. I'll be following your training with interest.....particularly your progress up and down that big hill you train on! Sorry about the fact that only a couple of people turned up for the session yesterday. Wonder what happened to them. Lazyitis? CBA itis? ' added 6th Jun 2011

  • Hat 'Nasty fall there Matt! Hope you're not scarred! And I am very impressed with the hill sessions 3 x a week - I must say hill training has made a massive difference to my running and sometimes I even enjoy it! Frustrating that only 2 people turned up to the group run the other morning - know the feeling! But your P/T business sounds as if it's going from strength to strength as it deserves to do - I hope you're enjoying it too.' added 6th Jun 2011
