New Year - Renewed Enthusiasm!!

Jan18201111 a.m.

Hi all

Been a L O N G time since my last blog entry. That’s because work / home life all got a bit mad before Christmas. Didn’t have the time to spend on it which I will make up for now!

So the training has started in earnest again. I am quite pleased with my progress so far. Since the 2010 VLM, my running sort of came to a stop!! I went out a few times fairly soon after it, but it tapered off to nothing, which was a bit naughty really. I am pleased that the old legs remember how to run, and I have put in a few medium runs of 6 miles or so just to start with. I have a LSR tonight, and am planning an 8 miler. Not out to break any VLM records this year, but really want to get under the 5 hour mark this time. I have a goal of 4.30, but we will see!! Last year showed me that just getting round is as much a triumph as hitting a goal time!! I may revise this closer to the marathon though!!

The 100,000 Faces Project (Link) is going well –the PR element the charity is putting together for me kicks off next week, so hopefully will pull in some good leads. For those that don’t know what I’m doing, I’m trying to raise £100,000 for Meningitis Research Foundation by way of a unique photo-art installation. All the details are on my FB page HERE.

Well that’s all for now – hope everyone is now getting into the groove ready for 17th April!! Not long to go!!
