Aches and Pains - And Tappering!!

Morning all,
Had a 16-18 miler planned for yesterday, to build on my half marathon from the week before. Same route, but with a loop around the first part of the course to make up the extra miles. didn't quite manage the full distance, as started to get a pain in my right foot arch, so decided to err on the side of caution and swing home for a 14.5 mile total. Still happy as felt I had plenty more in the 'tank'. This close to M Day, I don't want to put myself out by injuring myself!! On the day if anything crops up I will just have to run through it - legs can drop off as long as its after I cross the finish line!!
Will miss the 20 min I have planned tonight, and rest the foot, and see how it is on Tuesday. A few longer runs during mid week before my last big push on Easter Sunday. Then the tappering starts, and thats it!! Before we know it, it will be the 25th April and we will be lining up with tens of thousands of other like-minded nutters!! There must be something wrong with me - I am really looking forward to what I know will be the hardest 5hrs of my life!!
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.
