Couldn't find my rhythm last night . . . .
Morning all
Had a short 4.5 miler down on my plan for last night - a run home from work. Just a short one to keep the legs oiled!! I have done it before, and not had a problem, but last night waas different. I felt like I had run a lot further, and my legs felt it too. The problem was I couldn't find my rhythm.
The last few weeks I have been focusing on finding, and maintaining a 10 minute mile pace. As a newbie to running, and doing this on my own (apart form the advise i sometimes seek here on RB!!) it was a bit of a challenge. However, about 3 weeks ago i 'found' it, and my runs became almost a pleasure!! Its a nice pace for me, and I feel i can run for ages at that pace.
But last night, for whatever reason, I couldn't find it at all, and ended up running more like an 8.30 mile. Explains why it felt so hard! I think if it happens again, I will stop for a few minutes, get my head together - bit of streching perhaps - and then try again.
Two rest days now - though may do a very short one on Saturday - before my 13.1 miles on Sunday.
