Whilst I accept that there is the magic of TV at work when it comes to the programmes editing, I would like to see the accounts of London Marathon Limited being a lot more open about what they spend the charity money on. Further, I find the advertising set up of Realbuzz to be amazingly expensive for the online market and feel they should remove the marathon places from the package completely. If real buzz want to offer places, charge £300 + clicks per ad rates and these should come from the total pool of charity places.

Real Buzz provides a good portal for people like me, and it's free - but they have a pretty good "in" with all the people who take part in the marathon and if their business model doesn't work, stinging charities for £1000's is just not right!

I would like to see the price of entering the marathon increased to £300 per person or at least increased - that way, it would be open to anyone - any charity, and real runner who has the money. Can't afford £300? Run for a charity and raise a minimum of £300 and the place is free. Dublin was £85.

This whole thing has left me wanting to stop using Real Buzz until the situation is sorted out, so I won't be posting again. Disptaches has made getting my sponsorship very very hard - and to counter that, I have pledged to pay the £300 my charity paid for my place myself, so that people giving me money know it is all going to the charity.

I hope to be back on Real Buzz when they and London Marathon Limited become more reasonable to charities and more open about the event.
