Holy cow I'm a feeling guility!

Feb04201010:04 a.m.

I've done no running for the last 2 weeks. A long run on the road left my heel sore, so I rested it and stayed in the pool each week - a training session with my coach, Lyn Dyer who likes to see me suffer :-) - but is good at getting me to push myself beyond normal boundaries.

I've been lazy, no two ways about it. Motivation level has fallen and looking back at my garmin record I've logged very little in the way fo runs since the Dublin Marathon.

Not surprising then that the weight loss has reversed and I'm feeling pretty tubby to say the least.

Last time on the scales I was 17st 1lb - up from the week before when I was 16st 13lbs. I take the wieght at the same time, on the same scales and after the same morning routine. Anyway, I'll see how that changes now I'm back to the training.

I did 4 miles, all sub 5hr pace at running club on tuesday and heel is fine. Bit of cramp in the pool yesterday. I am pleased that my last 7 miler was below 5hr marathon pace - but that left me out of action for 2 weeks :-).

I looked back at the times for the last 2 marathons and in Dublin I ran the first 9 miles at 5hr pace before dropping back. In London I only ran 2 miles at sub 5hr pace. All in all, a long way to go to reach 11.30 per mile and missing two weeks won't have helped matters.

Week 5 of the schedule calls for:

Tuesday: 4m slow (DONE)

Wed: REST (I swam 1500m in 1hr including drills and blackpools - 4 crawl, 3 back, 2 breast and 1 fly in various combinations of arms, legs, full and just sort of bobbing there praying for a swift death :-)

Thurs: 5 miles (1 warm up, 3 Fartlek, 1 cool down)

Friday: Rest (SWIM)

Saturday: Rest or 3miles easy

Sunday: 10 miles run walk (2 hrs)

Tonight I'm babysitting for friends and will run to and from their house, distance and legs permitting and will try a bit of fartlek - never done it before, so will be interesting.

I need to get my fundraising page going too, so that is also on the adgenda for the day.

Anyway, back to the grind :-) Happy running.
