Amother one bites the dust...
I'm heading off to 2008 but will check back here to see how everyone is doing. Not definite that I'll be doing FLM 08 yet but it's in the plans till I decide differently and I would like to keep in touch with those of you on here. And Rachael I will be entering the Rachpops 10k soon then booking accommodation later on.
Good luck with all your plans and training and I hope to see you all soon !!

Photos from the 80s
I thought I'd follow up my marathon list by giving you all a laugh with some photos from that era - apologies for the dodgy moustache but it was the 80s!!! The first photo is from the local paper after my first marathon in Bolton in August 1981. As an incentive for the first person to spot me in the photo I'll sponsor them for £10 - that'll get you looking! But remember it was 26 years ago! The other photos may help you spot me and I'll post a bigger clue either later tonight or tomorrow! Sorry for some reason the photos are furhter down the page...

Race Preparation
Back on the track again doing a session designed for the 800m runners in the group - 600m hard, 200m jog and 200m sprint then 5-6 minutes recovery and then repeat the set. I wasn't timing myself just running hard. First set felt good and the sprint was quick (for me!), the second set felt hard but I finished it feeling good.
This was tough but good preparation for the shorter races I'm planning. Now I've got a 8-10 miler at weekend and then a 4 mile trail race on Wednesday and a 5k road race the week after.
I've got a day off tomorrow to make the bank holiday weekend even longer and I hope you've all got a great weekend planned - we all deserve it after the hard work over the last few months!

Speed session
Sorry been in sunny Glasgow for a few days with work!
Back on track on Monday night with a 6 x 200m sprints session with 200m walk recovery. Flat out sprinting was hard from the very start and I got slower on each one starting at 34 seconds and finishing at 38s. Legs went to jelly by 5th one and the last 200m walk before the 6th sprint was slow!!. Still I recovered quick and I've a race next Wednesday - a 4 mile trail race; then a 5k road race the week after and a 10 mile race in Chorley on 27th May - 2 days after my 51st B'day!!
