It was so much hotter today that it meant that I finally took an easy run but the heat made it hard and Sarah and I took it as easy as we could. Maris and Paul also ran but went off ahead of us.

We did the usual 4.1 mile route but changed it slightly to go through the woods to take advantage of the shade.

Even keeping to the shade as much a spossible it was still very hot and reminded me of the London Marathon in 2007.

We finished in just over 44 minutes and it took most of the afternoon to cool down!

Tonight at the club I was joined by Tony and Angie, Maggie, Sara, Liz, Angie K, Abbie and Lee. We ran down to the park where there was a loop that was mainly tree covered on soft trails and did some speed work in the hot humid conditions.  We split in to teams of two and one ran while the other recovered.

I finished with just over 4 miles for the session and now will do a track session tomorrow but I don't think I'll try to run a fast 5000m but might use the session as interval work doing fast and slow laps for the 5000m.

    Happy running!
