    May23201310:16 p.m.

Another double day started with a steady lunchtime run with Zena on a 4.0 mile route. There was the usual crowd out - 10 of us running over 34 miles to take us to a new record for a week's mileage of 166 miles with one day still to go.

Zena and I set off with Mikala and Ed who were on a 4.5 mile run. I dropped back to check on Tanya, Helen C and Forhana who were on a shorter route today. Charlotte and Olivia had also gone out on a seperate route. Hannah went out a little later running on her own after a meeting overran.

After working hard to cathc Zena, Mikala and Ed up Zena and I settled into a steadier pace and finished the 4 miles in 38:39.

Tonight at the club I made a total mess of planning the session and had to hurriedly change it part way through or we'd still be running now! The plan was for a warm up of one mile, then a tempo run round a hilly route of 2.16 miles. Then a set of quarter mile hills with jog back recoveries then finishing with a repeat of the tempo run. Then the mile run back.

After the first tempo run in 15:20 for a 7:05 avergae pace started on the hills but realised we wouldn't have time to finish the full set. We stopped after two hills and started the second tempo but were still out of time so Istopped Darren and asked him to turn those behind us back to the track. I carried on to catch Anne-Marie, Andrew and Bruno who were ahead of me and then we ran back as well.

I still finished with 7.37 miles for the sessiona nd arrived back at the track to a confused group. I apologised for the session as it's the first time I have not had my session perfectly planned before the start. Most of htem decided it was my age!!

Oh well I'll learn from this and it won't happen again but they did all work hard tonight! Now I really need an easy run tomorrow!

    Happy running!
