20 miles, 1 ice bath, & a hair cut
I did it! But did find it quite tough. 20 miles in 3.07. Used 3 gels, a botlle of water and a few sips of gatorade. Still managed to make my last 2 miles the quickest....my final mile was 8 minutes! But I certainly felt odd when I stopped- legs all tingly, and felt just weird. Forced myself to endure 5 minutes in an ice cold bath and after a glass of milk and some malt loaf, felt pretty normal again!
Miles 8 through to 16 were my best in terms of how I felt, and today was the first time in ages when I struggled with the motivation at some points of the run. May well have had something to do with the torrential rain which I endured throughout the whole bloody 3 hours.
Am trying to keep my distance from Mr P- still poorly- praying to all the gods that I will not get his man flu. Now a couple of hours to snooze on the sofa before I head out for a very close friends 30th birthday bash. I am designated driver on account of me still being firmly on the wagon!
5 weeks to go

karobinson 'Well done, been watching Eddie Izzard - marathon man? He was having ice baths which lasted for 15 minutes, never heard of it before. I've been taking vitamin C + zinc tablets all winter & so far have not had a cold or any other lurgy. Enjoy the party tonight.' added 20th Mar 2010

simonedumergue 'Great three miles and even more impressive that it was in the pouring rain! Got to admit, a nice warm bath and a glass (or two!) of red wine is an absolute pleasure after my long runs. Ice baths and a lemonade are just not quite the same ;-) Have fun tonight!' added 20th Mar 2010
