Better start

So after my moan last week things have brightened
After recovering from a monster hangover on Sunday, I pulled on my trainers before darkness provided yet another excuse for not running. Decided to time myself properly, so left the boyfriend to prepare dinner and minding the stopclock.
Things I learnt this run:
Factors that increase my speed:
1) Scary lady with pink hair sitting on wall
2) Big big dog running after me round park
3) Wolf whistles from a hoodie gang
Factors that slow me down:
1) Lung fulls of someone else's fun
2) Killer hill (ran up it. but had to walk at top)
Boyfriend's dislikes:
1) Me sweaty and smelly
2) My freshly blistered feet
3) Being shown my freshly blistered feet at the dinner table
So I think my visions of being turned into a sexy sleek gazelle are mostly mistaken, and I really need new running socks. Bargain basement socks from 2 years ago can be recycled into a scouring pad.
Total Distance: 5.5k
Time: 35:30
And my legs felt good enough the next day to do an aerobics class, but now my arms are very very sore...

Skye_Trekker 'Don't have a local scary lady with pink hair - but I'm with you on the other two. Also find mis-timing a run to coincide with the High School finishing is enough to make me speed up a bit as well... What slows me down? Trying to avoid the traffic (don't have much in the way of pavements here - and car drivers tend to think the road belongs to THEM and THEM alone). My husband doesn't go for the red & sweaty look either, and funnily enough he doesn't share my fascination for my two big toe-nails that are about to drop off any day now either...' added 4th Sep 2007

San_x 'Ha Ha, so funny. I like your other blogs too.. Thanks for your words of wisdom though regarding trying to do some running during my lunch hour... the only place I normally run to is the diner or the pub. for an orange juice (of course).. seriously, I take it on board and will work on that one.
