Experts, what do they know?

Probably quite a lot, that’s why they are called experts, nevertheless from now on I will be following no ones else’s plan. I will shape my own future, be the creator of my own destiny, and be the master of my own universe. By the power of Grayskull……….I have the POWER!
In other words I’ve written down a few dates and distances that I’m going to try and run this week, please see below;
Tuesday 24th Feb - 6 miles
Wednesday 25th Feb - 4 miles
Thursday 26th Feb - 6 miles
Saturday 28th Feb - 13 miles
I think this will be pushing it a bit, especially the 13 miles, but I really want to get to this distance under my belt. Firstly because sociologically I think reaching the ½ marathon mark will be a really great achievement. I know I have started training terribly late, but if I can run 13 miles I'll believe I have made up some of the lost time. Secondly because I’d like to take part in either the Hasting ½ marathon (15th March) or the Reading ½ marathon (29th March). I’d love to complete one of these in less than 2 hours. I know that sounds ridiculous (up until Thursday last week the furthest I had ever run was 4 miles), but you have to have a target.

garyb 'good luck with the plan. you would be better going for sub 2 at reading rather than hastings as Hastings is a lot hillier (and sooner!)' added 23rd Feb 2009
