I thought it’s meant to get easier?

Completed a 3.77 mile run in 31 minutes and 49 seconds.
I was expecting today’s run to be easy, after all I ran 10.8 miles yesterday, what’s a piddling little 3.77 miles? As it turns out, a lot. I practically had to drag myself around the entire distance. The only redeeming feature of today’s run was that somehow, and I genuinely don’t know how, as I was in pain all the way round, managed to knock just over 2 minutes off my PB for the distance.
I think my body is still recovering from yesterday. I feel tired, dehydrated and generally lacking in energy. I intend to a take break from running tomorrow (apart from cycling to work and back – 16 miles) and devise a training schedule for the week ahead.
Earlier in the week I said I’d like to run 13 miles at some point in the next 4 weeks. If I put today’s pain out of my mind and concentrate on yesterdays success, I’m starting to think maybe I could do it next weekend. Once I’ve completed 13 miles I’ll really feel like running the marathon is in my grasp.
