Is there ever a good time too listen to Bon Jovi?

Completed a 3.77 mile run in 31 minutes and 54 seconds.
Just as I near the one and a half mile mark, my Ipod flicks to the next song – Bon Jovi – Livin’ on a prayer. The beat kicks in. Wicked.
My pace picks up and I start singing out loud – ‘Tommy used to work on the docks, Unions been on strike, He’s down on his luck, ….its tough,….so tough’
Right turn into the park, this is easy, suddenly I have complete confidence in running the marathon in under 4 hours. ‘Gina works the diner all day. Working for her man, She brings home her pay for love……..for love’.
I’ve got a spring in my step; I jump in the air flicking a low hanging tree branch as I go.
‘She says we’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got, cause it doesn’t make a difference if we make it or not, We’ve got each other and that’s a lot for love – we’ll give it a shot!’
I punch the air, this is brilliant, why haven’t I been doing this all my life.
Left out of park, and past the people waiting at the bus stop. I know I’m singing Bon Jovi out load – but I don’t care! My body is full of energy; this is one of the greatest moments of my life.
‘Whooah, we’re half way there, Livin on a prayer, Take my hand we’ll make it - I swear. Whoooooooooah Livin on a prayer'.
On I go, screaming out some of the cheesiest lyrics known to mankind. I’ve discovered something amazing, the power of music!
The song finishes, and through the silence I can hear myself breathing at a hundred miles an hour. I pass the 2 mile mark. I’m knackered. I’ve just been running at 6 minute mile pace for the last half a mile. I’ve been absolutely legging it!!! I’ve practically been running at world record pace. What the hell was I doing?! I need to stop. But I cant, that would be a massive step back in my training. I’d have to go home knowing I could only reached the 2 mile mark. A drop in confidence like that and who knows what could happen. My dreams would be shattered; it could well send me insane. I’d have to join a monastery and paint my head green. The Ipod clicks over to ‘Newton Faulkner – Uncomfortably Slow’.
The next one and three quarter miles are the longest and most painful of my life.
Turns out there’s never a good time to listen to Bon Jovi.
