Loving The Autumn Sun.

Nov06201110:04 p.m.

What an absolutely beautiful autumn day it has been today, what a privelege to be able to play out in warm sunshine this time of year with the kids as we have been doing for much of the day Smile.

Oh how I wish my injuries were all fully healed up and I could stretch my running beyond the 3 mile marker, those of you that got a long one in today are lucky lucky people, lucky that you can, and lucky that you did.

In truth, I probably have been beyond this marker - 30 minutes as I ran the other day on the country park should in theory at least carry me further than 3 miles, the loop I did today is a perfect 5k, and it took me 25 and 1/2 minutes. I'm ready for my Garmin now. Dammmit! Gotta get it fixed.

Or do I? Will Santa be kind enough as deliver me one of them dog ugly 310XT Garmins with the 20 hours battery life? Much as I love my 405, that XT would be better suited to my long term ambitions, and would even be a handy tool out on a hike.

Corr, that would have been the perfect thing to be doing today - roaming the peaks of Snowdonia and setting about laying the foundations for a successful attempt at the Paddy Buckley round.

Watched the Snowdonia marathon on TV Friday night, S4C is ok with English subtitles, it looked fantastic - I've got to have a do at it, that steep off-road downhill as the course nears the end had people falling over everywhere, and the wind was strong enough that it blew one of the crowd barriers straight into the path of a runner as he came into the finish in Llanberis. It aint no picnic that one. Would be a decent sort of stepping stone en-route to the PB.

This last week didn't quite go as I'd planed it, I've done longer runs than I thought I'd be doing but less of them. Haven't done much in the way of cross training but it was planned out as an easy week, so that may well be a good thing.

Next week, the plan was to do 2 miles a day on 6 days of the week. The way my left heel is now behaving, I may be more likely to run every other day, that has worked well since it started bothering me. Going to have to be more disciplined with my eating next week, I let that go really slack this past week and I do feel like I'm paying for that now.

How unlucky were Rovers against Chelsea yesterday? Those fans should put away their banners - Rovers were good, as they were against Norwich. Petr Cech had to be at his very best to keep us out yesterday. It wont be Steve Kean that takes us down - it will be a combination of misfortune and poor judgement from match officials.
