Miling!!

Oct02201111:24 p.m.

That's right, miling. I mean actually running  Smile a whole, complete, entire, unbroken, continuous, uninterrupted 1.61 kilometres!

Slightly over even, the section of old railway at the foot of our hill (long since converted to bridleway for the pursuit of leisure, the copper mines having ceased their workings many moons ago) is 1.1 miles end to end.

My achilles groaned slightly in the first few strides as I began my run, but settled down beautifully. It took concentration but I managed to hold my form (first time I've attempted mid foot landing over anything like this distance). I timed myself for curiosity, 7:50 is in the same sort of region as I would have normally expected. Can tell I've not done it for a while though.

Will have to give some thought to what to do about VLM, being the not so happy owner of a new fleece. My mate Dave has got in though, so I'm pleased for him and everyone else who made it through the ballot.

A fairly decent circuit (avoiding working my tired legs) of bodyweight exercise earlier in the day gave good balance to the day's, and for that matter the week's training:

Chin Up, Dorsal Raises (4), Push Ups (2), Crunches (4), Reverse Crunches (2), and Dips (2).

Numbers in brackets represent number done per chin up (i.e. 5 chin ups = 20 crunches), just rattled through until I reached 30 chin ups.
