Something clicked today .
It would be fantastic if it would now "stay clicked" for the rest of days.
In the beautiful sunshine I thought I'd get out and feel the heat up on Moel Famau. I thought it would be useful with an eye on Saturday to make sure my running legs are working, and my walking legs are working. I am not so naive as to think there's any possibility of running to the top of Cader Idris.
Uphill, I could barely run a step. Could not believe how bad I felt. Downhill though, well I've never dropped off that mountain as quickly in my life. There was a fluidity of movement I've never felt before - my brain could barely keep up with the speed of my body (you have to watch where you're putting your feet!).
So fast was my downhill running, I overtook some mountain bikers ! It wasn't a fluke either. Because I was doing run / walk along Offa's Dyke Path, I met them again a couple of times. I have grown to expect to outrun MTB's going uphill, and then be spun around by the wind off 'em as they fly by going down the other side. Today, that was turned completely on its head. If I flow down off Cader like that on Saturday, I'm going to have a great day .
It was a great day today too. The conversations I had with those MTBers, and with a dozen or so very happy walkers at various points along my route absolutely made my day, it was truly wonderful , I thank them all.
Was hit by a migraine later on. Too much sun perhaps? Dehydation? Got my eyesight back again now but still feeling "icky". Considering how frequently I used to suffer with these headaches, this one caught me out. I had forgotten just how much they hurt!
