Up and Down...

Jan2120123:35 p.m.

... the mountain!

I said I'd do some hills, wasn't expecting the wind to be so strong I was doing hills on the flat!

Did a lap of the foot of our mountain to start off with, and then got into the hill work, climbing 5 times in all. Might be hard for some to appreciate just how tough a session this is - Steve Evans you will understand when I tell you that the climb you did with me the day I bought my bike was in the middle ground in terms of steepness and difficulty.

Everyone else might get an idea from the fact that a 2 mile climb on the A5104 up from Pontblyddyn to the junction at the top of Ffordd Llanfynydd doesn't even count as one of the hills on this ride!

I'll be ready for you Mow Cop, I'll be ready!

I've counted the contours on the OS map, and these 5 climbs of our mountain I've done today add up to 780m of vertical ascent. Didn't sound like all that much to me until I then checked the course profiles for the 2 sportives I'm training for, I've done more climbing today than there is in the entirity of the 80 miler at Jodrell Bank! (728m).
