Catch Up

Well since the marathon I've managed the London to Brighton Bike ride, albeit in a relaxed time of 6 hours or so with plenty of stops....but I did conquer ditchling beacon for the second time in a row. I did the Bupa London 10k in about 48 minutes, beaten by my mate Dom who did just under 46 mins, (skinny little git) and I'm doing the cliffe woods 10k, with my wife, who I've been motivating (or bullying as she puts it) to train, though shes finding it likewise hard to fit in like us all! Other than that I've not signed up for anything, though I have for a long time fancied trying a triathlon. I'm told once you've done one, you fall in love with the format, though I'm not sure my distance swimming is up to much, though the rest of it will be OK. I'm trying to up my cycling to work, and see how that goes, though got a flat yesterday and had to run three miles with the bike by my side, until Stevo came to pick me up in the works lorry so I could make work on time. I have kind of ditched the gym for the moment, although I;d quite like to get on the weights a couple of times a week. Its only any good doing that though if you keep it up, otherwise any muscle loses definition really quickly, and I don't manage to make the time. Tell the truth I';d rather run, or cycle. I've been using my Hybrid bike since the London to Brighton, although the racing bike is loads more fun, easier up hills despite not having the gear ratio's of the hybrid, and obviosuly faster by about 10 minutes over the 11 miles to work. Hope this beatiful weather keeps up, so I can get lots of these rides in. Also want to get down a park, and start an individual preseason for football. This has happened before, where I'm fit at the end of a season, and let it all go over the summer coming back a stone heavier and struggling to get in the side. I'm always back in by xmas, but I fear I might get a bit downhearted and do something else if I spend a lot of time on the sidelines this season. There are just so many other things to do!!!! Though I;d miss football with all my heart.
