The London Marathon.....Here I come..

That's it decided then......9 days before....I'm doing it! Nothing like cutting it close then!
I left work yesterday at 5pm with one mission, to run until I dropped. So through Gravesend, Meopham, Wrotham, Wrotham Heath, West Malling, Larkfield, Ditton, and finally on to Maidstone where thank goodness my dad came to my rescue (thanks dad!!) and picked me up from The White Rabbit....where if I hadn't have been dying, and wearing tights, I may well have snuck in there for a pint (ummmmm)
I worked it through this morning as I've taken to NOT wearing my satellite whatever watch that tells me how slow I'm running because after the injury i've lost so much of the pace I had before, and in the end it worked out at 22 miles in 3 hrs 31 mins with effectively 3 five/ten minute rest stops at varioius garages downing water/lucozade. This morning my legs worked (just), and I felt happy.....decision made, full steam ahead.
I'm building a stand at the exhibition on Tuesday too, how frustrating would that have been if last night a 'no' was the end result......its for 'goodness shakes', so freebies required I reckon.....i hopethey taste nice!
So I've 9 days now to recruit some sponsorship, Linda Eames, and ESM have donated kindly but so far thats it.....everyone was so good last time but I've not left much time onn this occasion for obvious reasons (I was staring down the barrel of giving Linda her 100 quid back until yesterday, as you can't exactly reclaim it from the charity (read a couple of stories from their website, it's heart rending stuff, that makes me so sad).....another good reason for cheer...though I know she wouldn't have taken it)
So my four week taper, now means 1 week to get myself recovered from yesterday, to 'carb' up, eat lots, lots of fluids, (not beer.....doh!), and excercise midly keeping in shape so on the day I feel completely fresh. My only worry is this run should have bee four weeks ago, so have I taken too much out of myself to recover in a week....before the 26.2 effort. I hope not!
