A Real Buzz Day
Probably my last blog on this thread for a while as I will be transfering to the VLM 2010 thread as soon as it opens.
A beautiful day around here today. I played cricket and we lost but I managed 22 of our 138 total and more surprizing my ankle/achilles seems to stand up to it, so much so that I regretted telling the captain that he probably shouldn't consider bowling me, next time maybe?! I hope this wasn't a fluke and maybe some strenght is returning to the achilles?
A great finish to the day, straight after cricket was chatting to Suzanne Hunt (aka Lardy Arse - No I mean "Here comes run 23257") from the FLM thread for 5 minutes. I have encouraged, slagged off, coaxed and taken the piss out of Suzanne, but most of all I wanted her to succeed. Despite never having met and spoken before, it was like chatting to an old friend. Brilliant, I really hope you have the day you deserve Mrs!
Busy day tomorrow, starting with an 1.5 hour bike ride and home before 8.30 to watch the FLM live whilst preparing Sunday dinner. Bake a cream cake, a last treat before Monday. In the afternoon I will be cheering on Hull Kingston Rovers in there Superleague fixture v Catalans Dragons.
Having lots of last minute treats this week end before marathon training starts on Monday, I cannot wait, In fact I'm really buzzing!

Gym session
I used the car today for work to get rid of a load of recycling stuff at work which meant depite the lovely day again, it was the gym for me. 55 minutes later I realised how unfit I really am at the moment, but it made think a bit more about a plan for tackling the London Marathon in 2010.
For the first three months I am going to concentrate on getting myself much fitter through more gym sessions and some cycling. In addition I must make a more concentrated effort to do my achilles exercises three times a day and not just as and when I remember.
When I couple that with losing some weight, in three months time maybe just maybe I might be able to start some proper running?
For now, the weight loss/fitness training must be the important bit as reducing the weight and pressure on my achilles will only help in the long run?
When the 2010 VLM thread opens next week, I will be moving across there again, but will still be keeping an eye on the usual suspects, to make sure your not slacking Andaz.

Split session
Another lovely day today. I had meant to have a short lunch and leave early for a big gym session but remembered a work colleague was retiring today after 44 years at the University of Hull. 44 years, you get less for murder!
Therefore I did a 45 minute bike ride at lunch (20k) and made an effort on the speed because of the short session. At 4.30 after the retirement do I fitted in a 3.5 k run on the treddie with 2 miles of it in one go! Go me! If I increase the length of my runs by 2 miles each month over the next 12 months I should be sorted for London 2010? My achilles is a little sore tonight though.
I have not touched a cricket bat or ball since last summer and then only 6 games. Hull City have a massive game v Liverpool on saturday and so no one is available to play cricket............guess who's cricket season starts on Saturday?!

Finally back to it
I have been off since 9th April and the return to work today was not easy! I managed a 65 k bike ride on Easter Sunday and nothing else untill 26 k today. Well nothing if you don't count decorating our hallway upstairs and down for four days plus four days in a caravan with Karen and the bin lids this last weekend.
I was meant to go in the gym this lunch, but the weather was just too good to stop in! Oh how I wish I could run in it!

Hull FC 14 v Hull Kingston Rovers 18
I managed a quick 17 k's Friday morning with my expected hangover and sweated some of it out, made Fish n Chips for 4 (Karen does not like Fish!) before returning to the pub about 11.15 for a "loosener" before the big match.
We should have won by 20 points but 4 will do! C'mon you bonnie Robins!!!
Chocolate for the first time in six weeks tomorrow....after a 60 K bike ride........
Happy Easter.
